(April 2022) We know what trauma looks like and how it impacts families and children. This workshop will focus on ‘What to Do?’ Maude and Deena will use a discussion format to share useful strategies and interventions for folks who sometimes feel out of their depth. The presenters have a shared philosophy with different areas of expertise. Questions will be welcome.

Deena McMahon, MSW, LICSW, has spent 40 years working with children and families who have experienced profound trauma, loss, and marginalization. She is an expert in attachment dynamics, adoption, sexual abuse, and developmental trauma. She also has extensive experience working with tribal communities statewide and nationally.

Maude Le Roux, OTR/L, is an international trainer in a variety of different courses. She is SIPT certified and specializes in Sensory Integration services as it applies to functional activities of daily living, including improving the ability of children / students of all ages to partake in his/her learning environment. Sensory Integration is the base for all her work in children and adults. She designs her own live courses with regards to occupational functioning of students across different ages and stages of development in a variety of categories. Maude works with a team of occupational therapists and speech language pathologists in her practice. She serves on the board for ATTACh where her portfolio includes providing training opportunities for occupational therapists with regards to attachment and trauma informed care. Maude is a mentor to many therapists, including OT and DIR professionals internationally. She opened The Maude Le Roux Academy online in January 2019, and has presented at conferences in a variety of settings across the US as well as internationally. She has co-authored the book, The Listening Journey, with Francoise Nicoloff, and her second book, Our Greatest Allies, is available on Amazon.com.
