(March 2018) We discuss the latest research findings on screen addiction, the common screen interactions (and the common screen pitfalls) of adopted and foster care youth, as well as discussions regarding social media interactions with birth families. With the particular needs and wounds of adopted and foster care youth, the technology choices with screens can have increased complexity as well as increased severity.

Adam Arnold,  MA, LMFT, LADC is a licensed psychotherapist, and co-director of Enliven Psychotherapy. Utilizing a gentle, brain-body approach he works with individuals and families through an attachment, trauma-informed lens. For over ten years Adam combined his passions for healing and the arts, serving as Founder and Artistic Director of blank slate theatre, a personal growth-oriented theatre for youth in Saint Paul, Minnesota.  Adam has special interest in collaborating with culturally and ability diverse persons, frequently treating mental and chemical health concerns within transracially adoptive families, persons with developmental disabilities, and members of the LGBTQ community. He is trained in, and commonly utilizes, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) with persons ages 5 and up.
