#20191106 – WEBINAR: When Child Protection Calls: What Every Parent Needs to Know About Child Protection

$15.00

Category:

Description

(November 2019)  It is often said that, for adoptive parents, involvement with child protection is a matter of when, not if. In this workshop, participants will learn about the child protection system in Minnesota, how to navigate it, and how to better protect their rights and the security of their families when CPS comes calling.

We will explore how a report is first presented to CPS, how reports are assessed and investigated, possible outcomes and their implications, and the rights caregivers have throughout the process. Participants will walk away better prepared to respond to a child protection investigation with a personal action plan that can be used in the event of a CPS assessment or investigation.

Since 2011, Ed Morales, MPP, MSW, LICSW has provided training and support services to families throughout Minnesota and the Midwest as a school social worker, therapist, and now full-time trainer. The adoptive parent of two remarkable sisters, Ed trains new child protection workers throughout the state, and has experienced two child protection responses since finalization.
