EVOLVE Family Services offers a variety of services and supports to foster, adoption and kinship families. EVOLVE has been providing service and support to families for over 40 years. We are driven and guided by our core values which include practicing with a lens of being child-centered, anti-oppressive, collaborative, transparent and evolving. In addition to EVOLVE’s core values, we are also guided by our Standard of Antiracism and Anti-Oppression.
Minnesota Adoption Permanency Program (MAPP): EVOLVE Family Services’ MAPP program is available for families throughout the state of Minnesota who are hoping to adopt through foster care. This program is under the PPAI state contract which offers adoption services to Minnesota’s Waiting Children.
Kinship Home Study, Home Study Update, and Placement Services: EVOLVE Family Services’ Kinship Home Study services is a resource for both county agencies and tribes to refer families for a child(ren)-specific home study assessment, including child foster care licensure and placement support. Referrals can occur for families who have emergency placement of their relative/kin or families who would like to be considered for placement of a relative/kin in out of home care. Families can also self-refer for this service. EVOLVE utilizes a child-centered and strengths-based approach when working with families. We work to break down barriers for families and provide trauma-informed education to promote successful placement while supporting familial reunification. All kinship families have access to funding to help support licensing barriers and youth support activities as they have placement of their kin.

UMOJA – MN:
EVOLVE’s UMOJA MN programming is dedicated to empowering, educating, and connecting adoptive, foster and kinship families of Black children. Our mission is to strengthen the bonds between these families and the Black community; honoring culture, heritage, and fostering positive self-identity. Our programs are geared towards both youth and parents. Our programs include a Black Heritage Camp, Culturally Responsive Parenting Groups, Black Teens in Action, and Cultural Enrichment Support Groups.
